Het Iridium netwerk bestaat uit 66 zgn. Low Orbit Satellites, welke dekking geven over de gehele wereld.

    De 9555, een minder robust toestel dan zijn voorganger ( de 9505(a)), maar daardoor wel wat compacter.

      Toestellen voor het Turaya netwerk zijn o.a. de SG 2520

    Een slimme 3-in-1 toestel met satelliet, GSM tri-band en GPS-functionaliteit geintergreerd, de Thuraya SG-2520 biedt naadloze mobiliteit voor land-based telecommunicatiesystemen.

    In GSM-modus kunt u bellen en gebeld worden in alle GSM gebieden met 900, 1800 of 1900 MHz-frequenties. Als u zich buiten het GSM dekkingsgebied bevindt kunt u bellen en gebeld worden van elke bestemming binnen het Thuraya dekkingsgebied

    welke 140 landen over Azië, Afrika, het Midden-Oosten en Europa omvat, zie ook het kaartje onderaan dit hoofdstuk.

    De Thuraya SG-2520 is de eerste satelliettelefoon met Bluetooth, waardoor handsfree bellen mogelijk is via dit toestel.

    De GPS-functie in het Thuraya SG-2520 is een krachtig hulpmiddel voor navigatie en persoonlijke veiligheid, hierdoor kunt U nauwkeurige informatie van Uw postie verstrekken.

    De SO 2510 is kleine satellietelefoon met een gewicht van 130 gr.

    Deze eenvoudige satelliettelefoon is enkel geschikt voor het Thuraya netwerk.
